Methamphetamine Contamination Disclosure and Your Home Purchase

California just happens to be one of only 23 states that mandate a methamphetamine contamination disclosure in connection with the sale of residential properties. As the highly addictive drug methamphetamine grows in popularity, so does the chance you could end up buying a "meth house" when you go shopping for real estate. Disclosures matter! Most jurisdictions require the home owner to pay for the cost of testing and remediation of meth even though the owner was not aware of contamination at the time of purchase.
